1st lesson!

I finally got back from Nantucket at 1:30 am last night after an extra-long and rainy drive from Boston to Quebec. We had a great trip that included fishing, fine dining, visiting the whaling museum (a must-see!) and hanging out with a great family in a beautiful house! I can't believe how lucky we are! I have to say that I am sorry though, because the weather and situation didn't allow for that much picture taking, and I didn't even take a pic of my best outfit...

I swear we got a really big bluefish (that we smoked and ate later that night) but I couldn't photograph it since I was helping to catch it with the net you see in the picture. And afterwards well... it was dead and I didn't feel it would be a very inspiring picture!

The beautiful house we stayed at!

 A bit of yummy food!

I am learning the basics of blogging and I think my first lesson is: take more pics! And my lesson for people who want to go to (or get out of) Nantucket is: book your ferry in advance!!

Nantucket inspiration

So I'm pretty lucky! My boyfriend is doing a 1-month internship in Boston and we are invited to Nantucket by one of his father's friends who has a house there. For the last 2 weeks I have been really excited to go there and wear super-preppy clothes and stripes and stuff. On a preppy to edgy spectrum I would say I'm usually way more on the edgy (some would even say hipster) side... But I like to dress for the occasion and since I started to date a southern boy I have to admit that I became more interested in polo shirts and pearls...

I browsed for prep-inspiration and fell in love with Sarah Vickers' blog Classy Girls Wear Pearls. Although it would make me feel too serious or ladylike to dress like that every day (and I don't have the wallet for it), I really like some of her outfits!

Here are some of my favorite pics from her blog (though most of them are beautiful!)

This one really looks like a Ralph Lauren or Tommy Hilfiger ad!!

So in the next few days I will be posting about what I could find in my wardrobe to recreate that preppy New England feel! I can't wait :)

P.S. Your comments make my day :)

Getting started!

I had been waiting several months before starting this blog. Waiting for what? I don't know, some inspiration, some time, some crazy ideas. I've decided that I would finally get started now as I have a cool trip coming up that will give me some fun ideas to post about. In this blog I will share mostly fashion inspiration and photos of my own style, but also other fun stuff like food, decoration, music, etc.!

Stay tuned for posts about my upcoming Nantucket trip!

Sara xoxo
